Kody is a 2 year old beagle that was rescued from the humane society near Clearwater FL by the Florida Canine Academy. There she trained with Master Trainer Bill Whitstine to discriminate scents of various types of microbial colonies in a variety of structures, including attics and crawl spaces. The method of indication is a passive method (sit). If Kody finds mold, she alerts Paul or Sue to the location. Kody received 1000 hours of training and was proficient in her duties before we arrived at the Academy. We as handlers trained together with Kody for a minimum of 40 hours.

Quarterly testing and annual recertification are required. At the end of the course, the Certified Master Trainer verifies that each canine team is capable of discriminating scents of the mold and issues certification.

The Mold Dog represents the newest technology and latest trend in the inspection industry. For consumers, this is great news - quicker and more accurate remediation leads to lower costs!
